With extensive experience across various sectors, he has held prestigious positions such as the Director at Nigerian Tobacco Company, First Chairman of Pepsi-Cola Factory in Nigeria, and Chairman of National Oil Refinery at NNPC, Kaduna. In the political sphere, Senator Tilley-Gyado has represented the Federal Republic of Nigeria in the defunct National Party of Nigeria and served as the National Vice Chairman of the defunct Social Democratic Party. As an active participant in various national institutions, he is a member of influential organizations such as the Nigeria Institute of Management, Nigeria Institute of Management Consultants, and the Federal Government Delegation to World Economy in Geneva.
Senator Tilley-Gyado's contribution to the Nigerian economy is significant, particularly in the banking, agriculture, and infrastructure sectors. He established Universal Trust Bank in the early 1990s, bringing Credit Commerciale de France (CCF), a leading French bank, to Nigeria, contributing to the development of the Nigerian banking sector. His passion for Nigeria's agricultural sector resulted in large-scale agricultural renovations in northern Nigeria, introducing modern farming practices, innovative technologies, and improving irrigation systems.
